Navigating through the campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 presents players with various tactical challenges and hidden rewards. Finding secret safes across missions yields high-value gear that can turn the tide in high-stakes encounters. One of the primary safes players search for is hidden inside Diego's room during the intense El Sin Nombre mission.
Where to Find Diego's Room in El Sin Nombre
During the El Sin Nombre mission, players must navigate a heavily guarded cartel compound to progress. After receiving freedom of movement from Alejandro, head toward the compound's upper levels by using the exterior balconies. Stealthily eliminate or bypass guards along the hallway near the red pool table area to reach the residence. Diego's room is situated on the second floor, positioned straight across from the elevator corridor.
Unlocking the Safe Code in Diego's Room
Once inside the room, players can spot the safe stored within the closet area right next to the bed. The combination to unlock this safe is 02-02-19. Players can discover this code natively by examining a framed portrait hanging on the wall inside the room, which displays the date February 2, 2019. Entering 02-02-19 on the dial opens the safe immediately without alerting nearby guards.
Rewards and Achievement Progression
Opening Diego's safe grants players useful gear for the remainder of the stealth operation. Inside, you will find a set of Plate Carrier armor and a silenced Lockwood 300 shotgun. Furthermore, unlocking this safe contributes directly toward completing the Gentleman Thief achievement, which requires opening all three safes hidden across the campaign.
